Copyright & Image-Use Guide

Photographs by James L. Dye, Jr. on Dynamic Depth Photo are protected by copyright. This guide explains how to request permission and what a print purchase or image license provides.

Viewing and sharing links

You are welcome to view the photographs and share links to the website, galleries, or individual pages. Sharing a link does not grant a license to the underlying photograph.

Copying, downloading, or reposting

Please obtain written permission before reproducing, reposting, redistributing, or uploading a photograph to another website, social account, publication, product, or service, unless the use is expressly permitted on this site or by applicable law.

Commercial and organizational use

For business, publication, advertising, website, presentation, or other project use, request a license describing the image, intended use, audience, geographic reach, duration, placement, and required file size. Permission is subject to the terms agreed in writing.

Editing and derivative uses

An image license does not automatically include permission to materially alter the image, remove required attribution, create derivative works, or sublicense it. Any permitted modifications should be stated in the license or written authorization.

Prints and display

Purchasing a print provides the physical print. It does not by itself transfer copyright or grant reproduction rights. Any additional image-use permission must be agreed separately.

Historical and educational pages

Historical research and educational text may cite outside sources. Rights in the photographs remain separate from rights in quoted, referenced, or linked material.

Copyright exceptions

This guide does not limit uses permitted by law, including fair use where it applies. An educational or nonprofit purpose alone does not automatically establish fair use; circumstances matter. See the U.S. Copyright Office fair-use guidance and information for photographers.

Request permission or a license

Include the photograph title or gallery link and describe how you want to use it. Email dynamicdepth@hotmail.com or visit Image Licensing.

This practical guide does not replace the terms of a specific written license or agreement.
